Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

In a constant effort to have a yummy homemade treat available for my children (lest we cave in to card board flavored processed food), my husband and I came up with these addictively delicious cookies. 
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
3 cups rolled oats
1 ½ cups flour
1 cup raisins
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 cup butter (at room temperature)
1 ¾ cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 ½ teaspoons vanilla
Preheat oven to 350.  Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl stir all if the dry ingredients together.  Then put the wet ingredients in and stir it all together (you may want to use an electric mixer).
On the prepared cookie sheet place about 1 tablespoon of dough per cookie, in rows about 1 ½ inches apart.  Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown and the centers are just set.

Do you include the nutrition information on your recipes?? It's helpful when counting calories, carbs and sodium. Thanks

Dear Anonymous,
I'm sorry, no I don't include the nutrition statistics that you asked about. I, myself, am not a calorie counter. I just try to eat three nutricious meals a day and get plenty of excersize. That has worked wonders for me personally. There are lots of books and websites that contain this type of information about any type of food you could think of and those are very useful. I create lots of new recipes a week and doing that for every recipe of mine would just be too much trouble for my purposes, I just can't do everything that would be a good idea, so I leave things like that up to the individual that is making the food in their own homes. It sounds odd, but I have found homebaked sweets to be the best way to ensure my kids don't eat junk food. Cookies made with real ingredients are so much more satisfying than packaged treats filled with chemicals, that I don't have to worry about my kids choosing the packaged variety. :) Thank you for sharing these delicious cookies with the Hearth and Soul Hop.
